BFA Life
As a student of the BFA Actor Training Program, you'll be part of a company of students living and learning together in a community enriched in the arts. The Twin Cities—Minneapolis/Saint Paul—is a fantastic metropolitan area, full of things to do, places to visit and people to meet.
The majority of classroom work takes place between on-campus locations in the newly formed West Bank Arts Quarter and off-campus at the Guthrie Theater. Summer 2006 marks an incredibly exciting time for all, as the Guthrie will open its new state-of-the-art facility on the river in Downtown Minneapolis. The new Guthrie features several innovative spaces for performance and instruction; for additional information visit http://www.guthrietheater.org.
BFA students have opportunities to perform in classroom projects each year on the stages of Rarig Center in the West Bank Arts Quarter and at the Guthrie. Students may also choose to audition for several summer performance opportunities, including the University of Minnesota Showboat Players, a summer stock theatre company performing each year on the Minnesota Centennial Showboat.
